Have your amazing marketing efforts left you with business overwhelm?

Here’s how to reduce some workload on yourself

When you start a business or have a lull, you tend to put superhuman efforts into your marketing. You regularly post on your socials, you blog and share knowledge, you network, and you may even do some email campaigns.

You put in all the hard yards, and you establish a thriving business.

But what happens when your marketing efforts send your business into overdrive? Your phone won’t stop ringing; your email enquiries are going off-tap, people are walking through your door – you’re in demand.

It’s a fantastic feeling that you’re so wanted, but it’s also a tad overwhelming isn’t it. How the heck are you meant to keep up?

You start to outsource parts of your business that don’t need you

Believe it or not, but you don’t need to do it all when it comes to running a soloist business. You’re a genius in your service offering (whether it be as a psychologist, a shop owner, running a network, a coach and so on) but you were never interested in becoming a jack of all trades in your business.

When you look closely at what you’re doing or trying to do, you’ll realise how many moving parts of your business you could outsource:

  • Phone answering or reception
  • Email management
  • Client onboarding
  • Customer relations
  • Bookkeeping
  • Copywriting
  • Social media management
  • Process creation
  • Automation setup
  • Paperwork completion and lodgement

If you sit down and make a list, you’ll be surprised at how much ‘love time’ work you’re doing in your business. This is a brilliant exercise I encourage you to do when you’re considering outsourcing.

Over the week, add up how much time you spend on the extra bits of your business that aren’t income generating (i.e. you’re not consulting with a patient or doing paid client work). At the end of the week, add up these totals.

You’ll be surprised how much time you’re spending. Time that isn’t paying you. Time that you’re wasting on admin that could be used for finding more clients to fill the gap.
